Headed north away from the interstate, blasting through a beautiful sunny Washington day, I stumbled on an interesting little town that has remade itself into a Bavarian Alps village: Leavenworth, WA. It was bizarre to drive around the corner and be met with a row of traditional chalet storefronts (even the bank), but it seems to work for this town. Even found another warm welcome at an amazing place to stay with incredible food and an owner who obviously cares very much about detail and luxury: Abendblume Bed and Breakfast. Stuffed myself on halibut and a cherry crepe at Pavz.
